Victoria, B.C. – Two men have been arrested, and a charge of second-degree murder has been laid, in the investigation of a fatal stabbing that took place in April 2024.
On April 9, 2024, VicPD Patrol officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 2900-block of Douglas Street. Officers arrived at the scene to find one man suffering from a stab wound. Officers and BC Emergency Health Services paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to the victim, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Shortly after the incident, the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crimes Unit (VIIMCU) assumed responsibility for the investigation.
Today, Tighson Laughren, 37 and Brody Laughren-Smith, 31, were arrested by police. A charge of second-degree murder has been approved. Laughren and Laughren-Smith remain in custody pending a future court date. As this case is now before the courts further details cannot be shared.
