VicPD Investigates Suspicious Fire at Children’s Playground

Victoria, B.C. – Victoria Police Department investigators believe a playground fire in the 1500 block of Pandora Avenue is suspicious in nature – and are reviewing available evidence. 

Police were contacted by the Victoria Fire Department on March 31, 2026 around 1:15 a.m., as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames. VicPD patrol officers conducted a preliminary investigation, which has now been transitioned to an investigative team at VicPD.  

The main play structure has been destroyed.  

Members with VicPD’s Forensic Identification Services were also dispatched to document the scene. 

Investigators are continuing to gather additional evidence relating to this investigation. Anyone with information who has not yet spoken with investigators is asked to contact the E-Comm non-emergency line at 250-995-7654 ext. 1, and reference file number 26-12901.
