Weekday Marches Prompt Traffic Advisories Downtown Victoria

Victoria, B.C. – The Victoria Police Department is encouraging road users to anticipate temporary traffic disruptions, as two marches are planned in Victoria’s downtown core Thursday, May 14. 

Thousands of participants are anticipated to walk in the annual Moose Hide Campaign’s Victoria Walk to End Violence and, a separate, March for Life event. 

Victoria Walk to End Violence participants will be gathering at Thunderbird Park at the corner of Belleville and Douglas Streets at 11:45 a.m. They plan to travel west along Belleville Street to the grounds of the B.C. Legislature. 

Temporary road closures will be in effect along the highlighted areas for the Moose Hide Campaign's Victoria Walk to End Violence on Thursday, May 14.

March for Life participants are anticipated to gather at Centennial Square around 1:00 p.m. That march starts at 1:45 p.m. travelling south on Broad Street, west on View Street, and south on Government to the front of the legislative grounds. 

Temporary road closures will be in effect along the highlighted areas for the March for Life on Thursday, May 14.

VicPD special duty officers have been assigned to manage road closures and provide site security, ensuring a safe environment for everyone.
