COVID-19 Service Delivery | 'Project Downtown Connect' Postponed

File: 20-4805Victoria, BC – “Project Downtown Connect”, an initiative aimed at increasing police visibility and engagement in Victoria’s downtown core, is postponed until further notice.This postponement is part of our efforts to ensure that we are able to maintain operational readiness during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Project Downtown Connect” received positive feedback from business owners, staff, and the public, and it is our goal to re-start the program in the future.We will continue to evaluate our protocols in order to respond appropriately to the needs of our community. In addition, we are asking members of the public to utilize our non-emergency line, or, where possible, report incidents online. You can help our officers stay healthy and able to respond to 911 calls for service by reporting non-emergency crimes, where you have no suspect information, online here: https://vicpd.ca/services/report-a-crime-online/.Our non-emergency line (250) 995-7654 is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
