Good Samaritan Sought After Incident Involving Minister

Date: Tuesday, December 14, 2021File: 21-48919Victoria, BC – Investigators continue to ask for information and for a Good Samaritan to come forward after Minister Katrine Conroy* was injured in an incident one week ago.Between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7th,  Minister Conroy was walking in the area of Ontario and Oswego streets when she was knocked to the ground by an unknown person. The Minister suffered non-life-threatening injuries and later attended hospital for medical treatment. The incident was reported to VicPD the following day, on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 8th.Detectives with VicPD’s Investigative Services Division are continuing to gather and review video evidence and canvass for witnesses. Investigators are still working to determine whether the incident involved a criminal motive or was an unfortunate accident. To date, investigators have found no evidence to suggest that this incident is related to the Minster’s role in Government.Investigators believe the incident occurred on the sidewalk in the area of Ontario and Oswego streets, and that a Good Samaritan helped the Minister during or after the incident. We continue to ask for any person involved to contact VicPD. In addition, the Minister’s glasses were lost during the incident.
