File: 1991-10349 Victoria, BC – A virtual version of the annual “Keep The Hope Alive” walk and run for Michael Dunahee occurs on Sunday, March 22nd , at 10:00 a.m.The annual “Keep The Hope Alive” walk and run for Michael Dunahee has been a yearly fixture for several years. This year, amidst COVID-19 public health concerns, this event will take place virtually. All proceeds from this event go towards Child Find B.C.. Click on the link for more details: https://www.esquimalt.ca/community-events/events-listing/calendar/michael-dunahee-keep-hope-alive-2020-virtual-runwalkThis event takes place two days prior to the anniversary of Michael’s disappearance.On March 24, 1991, at approximately 12:30 p.m., four-year-old Michael Dunahee disappeared from the area of the Blanshard School playground, just a short distance away from his family. Many families and spectators were in the area at the time for a touch football game. An extensive search was launched for Michael which involved hundreds of volunteers and police from multiple agencies.Michael was never found.This became the largest investigation in VicPD history and remains one of the largest missing child investigations in Canada.“We continue to investigate this file as we utilize new advancements in forensics and technology,” said Detective Sgt.
