Major Crime Unit Detectives Investigating Assault

Date: Tuesday, February 14, 2023File: 23-5628Victoria, BC – Major Crime Unit (MCU) detectives are asking those with information to come forward as they investigate an assault which left a person with significant injuries.Officers were called to the 800-block of Yates Street just after 2 am today for a report that a person was being assaulted. Officers arrived and located the victim suffering from significant injuries. BC Emergency Health Services paramedics transported the victim to hospital.This incident is not believed to be a random attack and is currently under active investigation.If you have information about this incident please call the VicPD report desk at (250) 995-7654 extension 1.
