Man In Custody After Weapons, Mental Health Call

File: 20-26072Victoria, BC –A man has been taken into custody after a weapons and mental health call on Hillside Avenue late this afternoon.Patrol officers were called to a multi-unit residential building in the 1100-block of Hillside Avenue just after 4:30 p.m. today for a report that a man was in crisis and had a weapon. Officers secured the scene and made contact with the man. The Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) including the Crisis Negotiators responded.The man was taken into custody a short time later and transported to hospital for evaluation.
