Temporary CCTV Cameras Deployed, Traffic Disruptions Anticipated During Saturday Protests

Date: Saturday, November 20th, 2021File: 21-45941, 21-45940Victoria, BC - We will be deploying temporary CCTV cameras in support of our operations to ensure public safety during planned protests today. Traffic disruptions are anticipated.Events are planned for this afternoon at the B.C. Legislature and Centennial Square areas. VicPD officers will be working to ensure that everyone’s rights to safe, peaceful and lawful protest are protected. Traffic disruptions are anticipated after 12:30 p.m. today.We are deploying these temporarily placed, monitored cameras in public spaces in accordance with B.C. and national privacy legislation. The cameras will be taken down a short time after the event.
