UPDATE | Two Outstanding Suspects Arrested After Cook Street Robbery

File: 20-32240Victoria, BC – Patrol officers and a VicPD K9 team arrested a man and a woman yesterday in connection to a robbery that led to residents being evacuated from their homes last week in the 2300-block of Cook Street.At approximately 7:45 a.m. on August 13th, Patrol officers were called to a multi-unit residential building in the 2300-block of Cook Street for a report of a robbery. Officers learned that the victim had been assaulted with a weapon and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The man was transported to hospital.Persons believed to be suspects in the incident remained inside a suite in the building. GVERT officers arrested one man and two persons suspected to be involved in the incident remained outstanding.On August 17th, officers located and arrested the two outstanding suspects. At approximately 1:30 p.m., a VicPD K9 team spotted the two suspects, standing at a bus stop in the 1000-block of Hillside Avenue. The man fled on foot from the area. Patrol officers and a VicPD K9 team arrested the woman and transported her to cells. The search for the man continued.At approximately 4:30 p.m., Patrol officers located and arrested the man at a multi-unit residential building in the 1000-block of Hillside Avenue. He was transported to cells.John William Crawford, a 30-year-old Victoria man, is charged with aggravated assault and robbery. Additionally, officers arrested Crawford on outstanding unendorsed warrants for review of sentence in relation to a 2019 break and enter, mischief under $5000, and theft under $5000. Crawford was held in custody to await court.The woman faces recommended charges of aggravated assault and robbery.
