Witnesses Sought After Hot Liquid Thrown on Two Women Downtown

Date: Thursday, November 24, 2022Files: 22-44745, 22-44759Victoria, BC – Officers are asking witnesses to come forward after two separate incidents where hot liquid was thrown on women.Officers are investigating two similar incidents of assault that occurred downtown on November 23, 2022. At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday a teen was sitting at a bus stop in the 1200-block of Douglas Street when she had a hot liquid, which was possibly coffee, thrown on her legs by an unknown person. Approximately 10 minutes later a woman was crossing the street in the 1400-block of Douglas Street when she had a hot liquid thrown on her legs by an unknown person. One of the victims was transported to hospital for assessment.Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who was on the west side of the 1200- to 1400- block of Douglas Street on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 between the hours of 4:15 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. who may have witnessed this incident.
