Witnesses, Suspect Sought In Carriage Tour Robbery

Date: Monday, August 17, 2020Files: 20-32776Victoria, BC – Patrol officers are looking for witnesses and asking you if you recognize the suspect in a robbery of Victoria Carriage Tours last night.Officers were called to in the intersection of Menzies and Belleville at approximately 9:40 p.m. last night for a report that a horse carriage operator had been robbed. The horse carriage operator reported that she was approached from behind by a man who assaulted her by pushing her to the ground. The man then took the day’s pay envelope and fled on a bicycle. The horse carriage operator declined medical attention. Officers searched the nearby area for the man, but were unable to locate him.The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his mid-30s, with a long, full beard. The man was wearing a black and red ball cap, a dark coloured hoody and jeans. He was riding a light coloured road bike at the time of the incident. The staff member reported seeing the man riding his bicycle in the area before the attack.
