VicPD Responds to Incident in Vic West

Victoria, B.C. – VicPD officers, including members of the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, responded to a residence in the 700-block of Belton Avenue at approximately 7:20 p.m. on August 26, following reports of home invasion at a residence. 

Several people were arrested, and police continue to actively investigate. A tactical response was initiated due to concerns that armed individuals may be inside the residence. The situation has since been resolved and there is no indication of a broader risk to the public. 

We recognize the significant police presence in the area may have caused concern and thank the public for their patience. We appreciate your cooperation in sheltering in place where required, and staying away from the area, while our officers worked to safely resolve this dynamic situation.
