Aggravated Assault Under Investigation at Gorge Park

Victoria, B.C. – The Victoria Police Department (VicPD) is investigating an aggravated assault that occurred on August 31, 2026, at Gorge Park, located at 1070 Tillicum Road.

At approximately 1:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault in progress. A 74-year-old man suffered serious facial injuries during an alleged assault involving a male suspect. After the incident, the suspect and a female youth fled the area on foot through the dog park.

The victim was transported to Victoria General Hospital for treatment. The suspect remains at large.

Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and are asking anyone who witnessed the assault or has information about the incident, and who has not yet spoken with police, to contact the E-Comm non-emergency line at 250-995-7654 ext. 1, and reference file number 25-36987.
