VicPD Seeks Public Tips in Search for Wanted Person, Unlawfully at Large

Victoria, B.C. – The Victoria Police Department is asking for information related to the whereabouts of 40-year-old Christopher HINTON, who is Unlawfully at Large. A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for HINTON's arrest, after he left a Parole Community Residential Facility in Victoria without authorization on August 21, 2026.

HINTON is described as a 6'1" Caucasian man, who's 192 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. If you see him, do not approach him. Anyone with information is asked to immediately call 9-1-1 and reference file number 26-35391.

HINTON is serving a 5-year, 5-month, 11-day sentence. He received initial convictions in November 2022 for Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance and Flight from Police While Operating Motor Vehicle, which resulted in a 2-year, 1-month, 4-day sentence.  

In 2023, HINTON received additional convictions for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, Operation While Prohibited, Using Imitation Firearm while Committing, Possession of Schedule I/II Substance for Purpose of Trafficking, Assault of Peace Officer, Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition, and Possession of Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order.
