Parents Alerted After Report Of Attempted Child-Luring

Date: Friday, November 12, 2021File: 21-45496Victoria, BC – Patrol officers are alerting parents after a report of an attempted luring of an 11-year-old child from Topaz Park this afternoon.Patrol officers learned that the child was playing on the Finlayson turf of Topaz Park just after 2 p.m. this afternoon when they were approached by a woman who offered the child money and then a Bible to get into her car. The child refused and told a trusted adult. The woman left the area prior to the child disclosing what had occurred.The woman is described as a Caucasian woman, approximately 60 to 70-years old, with a slim build and shoulder-length grey hair. She wore glasses and a grey or black pull over sweater, grey or black pants and was carrying a red book.
