Date: Tuesday, March 11, 2025 Victoria, B.C. – The VicPD Community Safety Report Cards (CSRCs) for October 1 – December 31, 2024, have been published, along with annual strategic plan highlights. Following the presentation to Esquimalt Town Council on Monday, March 10, the Q4 CSRCs for Victoria and Esquimalt are now available for review. In addition to summarizing Operational, Crime Prevention and Community Engagement work over the quarter, the Q4 reports include highlights from the Strategic Plan pillars.  In 2024, VicPD moved forward in Supporting Community Safety with a focus on criminals exploiting the vulnerable on Pandora Avenue and Ellice Street, by piloting an integrated bike and foot patrol, and by targeting gang activity in the region.  VicPD worked to Enhance Public Trust through more direct, casual opportunities such as Coffee with A Cop, and by deepening cultural connections, both within our communities and through larger initiatives such as the Pulling Together Canoe Journey. Efforts to Achieve Organizational Excellence included work to continue attracting the best applicants to become police officers, with targeted recruiting opportunities for women. VicPD also increased their training, implemented leadership development plans and moved forward with mental health and wellness initiatives, resulting in a decrease in Time Loss in Shifts. Read more from the CSRCs and other public information sources at our Open VicPD portal.
