Saturday Road Closures For Annual Tour de Victoria Ride

Date: Thursday August 15, 2024 File: 24-27284 Victoria, BC – Expect road closures and traffic disruptions in downtown Victoria for the annual Tour de Victoria cycling event on Saturday, August 17.  There will be up to 2,500 cyclists participating in this one-day event across Greater Victoria. Details of the Victoria road closures are below: 

  • Menzies Street will be closed between Belleville Street and Quebec Street from 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  

  • Belleville Street will be closed between Government Street and Menzies Street from 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  

  • Government Street will be closed between Superior Street and Humboldt Street from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. 

  • Belleville Street will also be closed between Oswego Street and Pendray Street from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

  • Dallas Road will be closed between Crescent Road and the Hotel Grand Pacific from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  

 VicPD officers and reserve constables will be working to help minimize traffic disruptions and keep participants and attendees safe.  For more information about the event, including road maps and the full list of road closures throughout Greater Victoria, please visit the Tour de Victoria website: Traffic Restrictions • Ryder Hesjedal's Tour de Victoria Temporary, Monitored CCTV Cameras Deployed We will be deploying our temporary, monitored CCTV cameras in support of our operations to ensure public safety and help maintain traffic flow. The deployment of these cameras is part of our operations to support community safety and is in keeping with both provincial and federal privacy laws. Temporary signs are up in the area to ensure that the community is aware. The cameras will be taken down once the event has concluded.
