Saturday Road Closures For Tour de Victoria Ride

Date: Wednesday August 16, 2023 File: 23-27970 Victoria, BC – Residents are advised to expect road closures and traffic disruptions in downtown Victoria for the Tour de Victoria cycling event on Saturday, August 19. There are a series of closures during this day-long event. Details of the road closures are below: 

  • Belleville Street will be closed between Government Street and Oswego Street from 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

  • Menzies Street will be closed between Belleville Street and Quebec Street from 4:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

  • Government Street will be closed between Superior Street and Humboldt Street from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. 

  • Belleville Street will be closed between Government Street and Douglas Street from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. 

  • Belleville Street will also be closed between Oswego Street and Pendray Street from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

  • Dallas Road will be closed between Crescent Road and the Hotel Grand Pacific from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

VicPD officers and reserve constables will be working to help minimize traffic disruptions and keep participants and attendees safe. Additional road closures throughout Greater Victoria can be found on the Tour de Victoria Traffic page. As with previous events, we will be deploying temporarily placed CCTV cameras in support of our operations to ensure public safety and help maintain the flow of traffic. The deployment of these cameras is part of our operations to help keep this event fun, safe and family-friendly, and is in accordance with provincial and federal privacy laws.  Temporary signs are posted in the area to ensure the public is aware of the use of CCTV during this time.
