Suspect Arrested For Theft In Progress From Downtown Retailer

Date: Wednesday, March 8, 2023File: 23-8203Victoria, BC –  On Monday, February 6, just after 11:00 a.m., officers were alerted by a store owner to a theft in progress from a retailer in the 1300-block of Broad Street.With the assistance of retail staff, officers determined that the suspect had fled the store and entered a multi-unit residential housing facility in the 700-block of Pandora Avenue. Working with facility staff, officers located and arrested the suspect for Theft Under $5000 and recovered the stolen merchandise. The suspect was also found to have an outstanding arrest warrant for Theft Under $5000.VicPD continues to work with retailers to address retail theft in Victoria and Esquimalt, and we encourage businesses to report shoplifting, mischief and other criminal offences that impact the operations of their businesses.
