VIDEO Now Available | Suspect Sought In Spitting Assault On BC Transit Operator

Date: Wednesday, January 27, 2021Files: 20-43234Victoria, BC – Video is now available as Patrol officers ask for your help as we work to identify a suspect in a “spitting assault” on a BC Transit operator.Patrol officers were called after a Transit operator reported an October 29th, 2020 incident. The Transit operator reported that just after 6:30 p.m. that day, they were required to make a sudden stop when the bus they were driving was cut off by a vehicle. A young woman sitting at the front of the bus fell from her seat during the sudden stop and became irate with the Transit operator. She approached the Transit operator, yelled at them, and then pulled on the plexiglass barrier. The young woman then spat at the Transit operator. She fled the bus southbound on Quadra Street. The Transit operator was not physically injured in the incident.The suspect is described as a young Caucasian woman, standing five feet, four inches tall with a slender build. She has medium-coloured long hair and was wearing a light grey sweatshirt and dark leggings. Video of the incident is below. The sound in the video has been edited as the suspect begins to verbally abuse the operator and the language is not appropriate for our social media channels.
