Date: Friday, May 24, 2024 File: 24-17977 Victoria, BC – Investigators are looking for dashcam footage, CCTV footage and additional witnesses after a pedestrian was struck downtown earlier today. Just after 11 a.m. this morning a 79-year-old pedestrian was struck while crossing the road at the intersection of Fisgard Street and Government Street. The pedestrian was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and the intersection was closed for several hours while traffic analysts investigated. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Investigators are asking anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage of the incident, or who may have witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to police, to call the E-Comm Report Desk at (250) 995-7654.
