Witnesses, Driver Sought Following Collision Between Vehicle and Cyclist

Date: Wednesday, March 5, 2025 File: 25-7458 Victoria, B.C. – Investigators are seeking witnesses and video footage following a collision between a driver and a cyclist near Caledonia Avenue and Douglas Street at approximately 11:00 a.m. on March 02.   Just after 11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, VicPD received a report of a collision in which a driver struck a cyclist in the 700-block of Caledonia Avenue while travelling in the bike lane. The driver initially stopped to check on the cyclist but left the scene shortly afterward. The vehicle involved was described as a red SUV, but no license plate was obtained. The cyclist reported that several witnesses came to his aid, but he did not get any of their contact information before leaving. The cyclist sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.
