Witnesses & Information Sought After Electrical Panels Vandalized At Royal Athletic Park

Date: Friday, March 17, 2023File: 23-900256Victoria, BC – Officers are asking for anyone with information to come forward after electrical panels at Royal Athletic Park were damaged.On March 14, 2023, City of Victoria staff reported that the electrical panels at Royal Athletic Park had been damaged between 10 pm on March 7, and 6 am on March 8. The damage, which includes wiring, junction boxes and breakers is estimated to be approximately $5,000. The investigation indicates that the damage may have been caused by people attempting to tap into power there. In addition to the repair costs, damage of this sort creates significant electrical and fire risks.

The damaged areas included electrical outlets, junction boxes and breaker boxes.
