VicPD Issues Temporary Road Closure Advisory for the Annual Village Block Party, June 7

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 4, 2026

Victoria, B.C. – The Victoria Police Department (VicPD) is advising the public of temporary road closures in Cook Street Village on June 7 for the Annual Village Block Party, a community event that will draw thousands of attendees to the area.

Cook Street, between Oscar Street and Park Boulevard, will be closed to vehicle traffic from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the event taking place from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The road will be converted into a pedestrian only zone to support a safe and accessible environment for attendees.

To facilitate the closure, all side streets and both the north and south ends of Cook Street will be blocked from traffic. VicPD special duty members will be on site to manage road closures, assist with crowd safety, and support the event under the department’s responsibilities for permitted events.

Attendance is expected to reach approximately 25,000 people throughout the day, and the public is encouraged to plan ahead for delays and detours.

A map of the road closures is provided below.

Temporary road closures are highlighted in red along Cook Street, while all side streets and both the north and south ends will also be fully blocked to traffic for the Annual Village Block Party on June 7.
