Art Gallery Paint-In Traffic Advisory

Victoria, B.C. – The Victoria Police Department (VicPD) is advising road users and residents around Moss Street to plan for a temporary road closure on Saturday, July 18 for an annual community event that attracts thousands of people.  

The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria’s ‘Art Gallery Paint-In' features the work of 150 artists along Moss Street from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  

Moss Street between Purcell Place and Rockland Avenue will be partially closed for event set up at 6:00 a.m. Then Moss Street between Fort Street and Dallas Road will be closed to vehicle traffic from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., although drivers will be able to flow through the intersection of Fairfield Road and Moss Street. 

All road users are encouraged to slow down and take extra precautions around the larger crowd anticipated in the area. 

Event staff, volunteers, and marshals will work with VicPD Special Duty members to provide traffic control. Police will also be providing site security to ensure a peaceful event without disruption.
