FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 31, 2026

Victoria, B.C. – The Victoria Police Department (VicPD) will be supporting the 55th Anniversary Canadian Forces Snowbirds Airshow along the Dallas Road waterfront on Tuesday, August 4.

The annual event attracts up to 30,000 spectators, and significant traffic delays are expected before and after the air show.

Road Closures:

Parking restrictions on Dallas Road begin at 12:00 p.m.

The following roads will be closed from 3:00 p.m. until approximately 6:00 p.m., or until it is safe to reopen:

  • Dallas Road: Douglas Street to Memorial Crescent
  • Cook Street: May Street to Dallas Road

Residents in the James Bay and Fairfield neighbourhoods should expect delays entering and leaving the area during peak event times.

Motorists are encouraged to arrive early, allow extra travel time, and consider walking, cycling, or taking BC Transit where possible. After the show, please be patient. With limited exit routes, delays are expected. If possible, remain in the area for a brief time after the event to help reduce congestion. Drivers travelling east should use routes like Fairfield Road to Beach Drive or Foul Bay Road.

Transit users should check BC Transit for route detours and service updates before travelling.

Public Safety:

VicPD officers and Special Duty members will be on site throughout the event to help manage traffic, maintain public safety, and ensure emergency vehicle access.

As part of our safety plan, VicPD will also use a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS), commonly known as a drone, to monitor crowds and traffic conditions. The RPAS provides live situational awareness and does not record by default.

Please follow the directions of police officers, Special Duty members, and traffic-control personnel.

We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable day at the event. If you become separated from your family or friends, or if you find someone who needs assistance, please notify a VicPD officer or visit one of the designated meeting points:

  • Douglas Street & Dallas Road
  • Cook Street & Dallas Road
  • Moss Street & Dallas Road
  • Memorial Crescent & Dallas Road

If you see suspicious activity, an unattended item, or anything that concerns you, notify a VicPD officer or event staff, call the E-Comm non-emergency line at 250-995-7654, ext. 1, or call 9-1-1 in an emergency.

The air show is weather dependent. Please monitor our communication channels for updates.
