Suspect in Custody Following Assault on BC Transit Supervisor

Victoria, B.C. – Victoria Police Patrol Officers have arrested a man following an incident involving an assault on a transit supervisor in downtown Victoria on July 16, 2026. 

The incident began at approximately 7:45 p.m. when an emergency "Call 911" sign was displayed on a BC Transit bus travelling on Douglas Street near Herald Street. While the sign was initially reported as a false alarm, police were later notified that a transit supervisor had been assaulted and that a knife was presented during the assault. The suspect left the area on foot.

Following an investigation, police located and arrested a male suspect. The suspect was found to be in possession of a knife consistent with the description provided by the victim. The suspect remains in custody pending a court appearance on July 20, 2026.
